At The Curl Lounge, we are curly hair experts who can add beautiful shades of hair colour to highlight your own natural hair colour. You can also choose from a variety of techniques. Highlights in your curly hair can add depth through eye-catching hues that will make heads turn! Our stylists can do full or partial highlights, just let us know what you prefer. In addition to using standard highlighting methods, we can do balayage, which involves freehand brushing for a more customized look, or ombré, which involves adding colour to your hair ends but not your roots. What are highlights, ombré and balayage?
With highlights, you don’t need to completely change your hair colour to achieve your desired look. You can get a few colour accents that catch the light just so and highlight your own natural hair colour, or you can go wild and add bright highlights all over! We’ll be happy to consult with you to determine which colour and type of highlights would work best for your hair and the effect you want to achieve.
The technique called ombré refers to tinting the tips or ends of your hair, while leaving the roots as they are, for a beautiful gradient effect along the length of your hair. Balayage is a highlighting technique that achieves that sun-kissed look through hand-painting sections of your hair using a brush and skilled sweeping motions.
What is balayage?
At The Curl Salon, we offer you different hair colour highlight services including balayage. This technique uses sweeping motions to create highlights right where you want them. If you want your hair to have a sunkissed look, or you’d like a particular shade of highlights to complement your natural hair colour, then balayage is what you want! Your stylist can hand-pick which strands of hair to colour, thus giving you and your hair specialist the freedom to get really creative! Balayage works beautifully whether you want traditional hair colours or bolder, more avant-garde looks. Whether you desire plum, gold, or purple highlights, ask for balayage!
Colour Correction
We can reverse undesirable colour results from a DIY job or another salon. Clients must complete a thorough consultation prior to booking.

This service includes a full highlight touch-up, wash, and styling. Prices may vary based on density and length of hair. This is for clients who have had a full highlight service within the last six months.
Partial Highlight Touch -Up
For clients who have had a partial highlight service within the last six months, we offer a partial highlight touch-up, with a wash and styling.
Balayage Touch-Up
This service includes a balayage touch-up, wash, tone, and styling for clients who have had a full balayage service within the last six months. Pricing is subject to change based on length, density and porosity.
Ombré
If you’d like to have just your ends coloured, select this service. A wash and styling are included.
Partial Balayage Touch-Up
This service involves touching up only the front and crown of an existing balayage, for clients who have had a full balayage service within the last six months. It includes a wash and styling.
